The Piscataway Elks Soccer Shoot Out was held on October 20th. It was a well-attended event. The event was open to all children up to U16 (ages 15 & under), whether the child is currently in the Soccer Club or not. The Grand Lodge Youth Activities Committee of the Elks intends to bring every Elk State Association on board & increase participation in soccer on every level. The Elks program includes a Local, District, State & Regional Shoot Out. The Elks work with local Soccer Associations & recreation Departments to increase Elk participation. The Soccer Shoot Out program consists of two different contests that test different level of skills at different ages. Winners at our local Shoot Out & some of our 2nd & 3rdplace winners advanced on to the Elks District level. This year we had the following Piscataway Soccer Club Members participate in the district shoot held on October 27th:
U8Girls Morgan Villanueva, Harper Walker, Fayrouz Elfeky & Princess Nwodim (Morgan took 2nd, Harper took 3rd, Fayrouztook 6th & Princess took 7th in the district).
U8Boys Joey Salles, Philo Abdallah, Shinji Ito & Mohamed Maksoud (Joey took 1st, Philo took 2nd & Shinji took 4th & Mohamed tied for 6th in the district).
U10Girls Zoriana Chernenko & Maya Maksoud (Zoriana took 5th & Maya took 8th in the district).
U10Boys Kaiden Pineda, Riyaan Parti & Grant Hildebrandt(Kaiden took 1st, Riyaan took 4th & Grant took 8th in the district).
U12Girls Mia DeSantis, Genasse Gerena & Giana Martinez(Mia took 1st, Genasse took 2nd & Giana took 5th in the district).
U12Boys Ethan Villanueva, Kenan Damra & Shubhankar Ameet Sandugade (Ethan took 2nd, Kenan took 3rd & Shubhankar took 5th in the district).
U14Boys Nathaniel Odeyemi, Dmytro Chernenko, PatrickBatulis (Nathaniel took 1st, Dymtro took 2nd & Patrick took 3rdin the district).
U16Girls Jasmine Cosme & Hayley Opitz (Jasmine 1st & Hayley took 2nd in the district).
U16Boys Pablo Lodena took 1st in the district.
The NJ Elks State Soccer Shoot is scheduled for January 13th, 2024, at Manasquan Elementary School.
