Solid Team Performance May 6 against N. Brunswick
Good to see a solid performance at home against North Brunswick. Our defense was key to the game, keeping N. Brunswick pinned in their end most of the first half and generating quality chances in front of their net. Our goalkeeping was outstanding when needed, and we kept their speed in check and to the outside most of the game. Good to see us switch the field, move some people around to different postions, and play some good attacking ball. We just missed several other opportunities on through balls. Let's improve our switching, passing in ALL directions, and keep the energy level high for this week and our match in Bridgewater Sunday. Way to go team!

Great Work in Two Tough Away Game April 28 and 29
Excellent effort on Saturday and Sunday in two one-goal away games. Either team could have gotten the win in both. Great to see our defense step up and keep the ball in the midfield for much of the 2nd half of both matches. We are getting more players involved in the play and our teamwork has improved greatly since September. We had a great comeback on Saturday: no quit, many great chances developed as a result of our passing. Sunday we played like we play on turf all of the time. Our work on through-balls really showed and was just as good as our opponent. We are really coming together as a team as both Linden and S. Brunswick are top-flight teams. Let's work on switching the field, our vision in finding the open man, and continue to improve our teamwork and the confidence we show in each other. Go Revolution!
Great Defensive Effort in Millburn!
Yes, Coach Liked the "Zero"!
Our Millburn game was a great defensive effort all around. Goalkeeping, backs, midfield and forwards put some good pressure on the ball and forced Millburn to the sides. We used our energy well in coming back, keeping the pressure on, and only letting our opponents get a couple of good chances. Offensively, we had some good crosses, a couple of near misses, some good through balls, and got our goal because we got the ball in front of the net and didn't give up. We will work more on our possession, our creativity on offense (overlaps, through balls, quick passes) and look to keep up the great defense against Princeton at Witherspoon on April 15. Keep working as a team and we will all keep improving!
Way to Go! Good Defense, Excellent Crosses Against N. Hunterdon!
Our match on March 25 went well against a tough, fast N. Hunterdon team. The first half we exploded for four goals, all on good team effort moving the ball through the defense, and hitting great crosses for finishes. The 2nd half we played excellent team defense, with the midfield helping out, to keep the lead. We definitely dictated the tempo and how the game would be played: it was great to be able to switch from high-intensity offense to strong defense. We will work on our vision, passing, and playing the ball quicker so we are ready for Saturday's match against Millburn before we get a week off before Easter. Let's have a good week of practice! See you at the High School at 6pm on Tuesday!
Great Win vs Princeton
We executed our game plan very well against Princeton. We got on them early with crisp passing, great energy, and some unselfish play. We defended the midfield very well, with our goalies doing a great job on the couple of breakaway opportunties we had: our effort against their striker by several of our players was top notch. It was great to mix up positions and see no fall-off in effort or the number of opportunities we had to score. And our focus was great despite our great start and the distractions from the Princeton coaches. All in all, very happy and proud of the effort. Now we will get in two weeks of hard work and have a 2nd half even better than the first. Way to go Revolution!
Competitive Match in Delaware Valley!
Sunday was a very tough, fast, competitive match against Delaware Valley. We showed great skill in passing around the net in the first half to create opportunities, kept the ball in their end much of the 2nd half, and did a great job on balls in the air. We missed several great opportunities to score that we will work on this week in practice so next time we face great goalkeeping we can convert more chances. EVERYONE was involved and made contributions during the match. Our corner kicks we very theatening and we are putting Coach Chase’s heading practice to good use. The Delaware Valley coaches said the touch and soccer skill was about the best they have seen: they also liked the support and enthusiasm of our parents as well. Let’s keep working on switching the field, our finishing, and using teamwork to score: we have another tough opponent Sunday at 1pm at home vs. Hunterdon. See you at practice!
Good Game to Open the Spring!
Great match on March 11 against Clark! Our teamwork, defensive effort, and energy won out in the end: we kept our opponent in their half of the field and had many great chances to score in the second half. Our best plays were a result of teamwork: 2-3 passes to work the ball and find the open players and score, great communication and strike on the indirect kick, good execution running the corner kick plays, and excellent goalkeeping and defense on the two Clark corner kicks at the end of the match. Let’s build on this with some great practices and training so we can come out even better on Sunday.
