Piscataway Soccer Club Copryright 2012 05/18/2012 05/18/2012 www.piscatawaysoccer.org News from Piscataway Soccer Club Ted DeWys Memorial Referee Scholarship 05/18/2012 07:12 AM http://www.piscatawaysoccer.org/home/627444.html  Ted DeWys was a very active member in youth soccer within New Jersey.  In particular, Ted was the head referee and referee assignor within the Piscataway Soccer Club.  Ted not only was a referee but he was a mentor to many of the young referees within our club.  He would work with them during the games and helped to improve their confidence and ability to work future games.  Ted passed away in 2004, but we continue to honor him for his guidance, dedication, and hard work by providing a partial college scholarship to the young men and women who have also worked hard in our club as referees.  Two $500 Scholarships will be provided by the Piscataway Soccer Club to two High School Senior recipients each year in Ted’s name.  Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply for the scholarships.  The application can be found here.  The Application deadline has been extended to June 5th.

With a makeup date for May 19th.  You Can Register For Tryouts here!  There is no fee for registering online!  All tryouts will take place at PHS Turf field.  Online registration closes midnight 5/16.  In person registration will still be available prior to tryout.

Please find your Fall 2012 age group and use this to determine the correct tryout time. Any player intending to tryout for an older age team must also attend the tryout for that age group.  Please arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of your session to check in, please pre-register the players if possible on our registration system.  All players trying out must have appropriate footwear, shin guards, and sports glasses if wearing glasses.

Volunteers are the backbone of Piscataway Soccer Club. We could not exist without the dedication of hundreds of Piscataway and surrounding area citizens. The time, energy and enthusiasm of volunteers fuel our soccer club and make our kids’ dreams a reality. There is a place for everyone in our organization. The sports-minded can find a place as a coach. The business person can lend their talent as an event organizer. The retiree can offer support as a coordinator, and the student may want to invest their enthusiasm into a league or other competition event. A company owner can provide needed funding and sponsorship, and a community leader can assist with public relations opportunities. In the end, all of our volunteers have one thing in common -- a sense of personal pride knowing they are changing lives of our children with their involvement!
